This April 2021 Disney is taking some steps to crack the online streaming market in India. Because of covid 19 theatres and multiplex are closed so OTT platforms have taken command of the films and the other video content. Disney + was launched on April 3 and it was rolled out through the popular Hotstar on-demand video streaming service. Disney acquired Hotstar because of its popularity in India, as part of the $71 Billion acquisition of 21st-century fix in March 2019.
By running its service through the Hotstar platform, Disney + will be hoping to reach the service with a 300 million user base. The Indian video streaming platform was just half a billion $ two years ago and its net worth is not in front of you. So you can imagine how popular OTT platforms are nowadays.

There are many options for the users, there will be a special place to cover the most popular cricket tournament IPL. The success rate of Disney + in India?
Disney + was launched in November 2019 in India but since it has a user base of more than 54 million subscribers as of May 2020 data. India has a huge population it is a good move by Disney to buy Hotstar and penetrate the Indian market and compete with Amazon Prime, Zee5, and other OTT platforms. Their only main focus was in North America, Europe, and Australia but now they are focussing on the Indian audiences to provide the content in a cheap amount and this marketing strategy is working very fine in India.
But the company has faced a huge loss because due to Covid 19 crisis IPL was canceled.
